Mission: Baby's Room, or "Inspired by Artwork"

They're here! They're here!

The prints I ordered from uber-talented artist Katie daisy have arrived, thereby kicking off
"Mission: Baby's Room."

Once we learned we were having a boy, and we settled on the theme of "outdoors'y" / nature for the nursery, I sought out inspirational artwork that could  a) be featured IN the baby's room and  b) offer a color palette with which we could work.

I should have known that Katie Daisy would be the artist I would go through, after having discovered her work last year. ---> this post from April '11 shows my delight for having stumbled upon her work! ;o)

So excited to feature these prints in our baby's bedroom:

Also hoping to order a 5 x 7 print of this one to hang the switchplate:

Colorful, kid-friendly, inspiring, and totally up our alley with the nature-centric theme....
THANK YOU, KATIE DAISY!

* check out her website at: www.katiedaisy.com
* "like" her on facebook and find her shop on etsy, too!

With these awesome pieces of art now in our possession, I anticipate having an easier time finding things like bedding and paint colors for the walls. I'm tempted to take 'em with me every time I head out to the stores, just in case I see something that makes me think, "Ooh! Baby's room!"

My mind has been hummin' with all sorts of ideas for the woods'y aesthetic and I can't wait to start putting the room together, piece by piece. I won't be able to partake in the painting aspect, but I am anxious to start the DIY projects I have in mind and shop about over the next few months...

Our small and unexciting guest bedroom will soon transform into a warm and welcoming place for our son, and I couldn't be more excited about it :o)
