It's important to be grateful and mindful of the little things in life that bring joy....like freebies!
Thank you, Universe, for the free things you send my way. I am fond of all pieces of furniture I've found on the side of the road and use them all (except for the rocking chair, which needs some wood glue and a funky-fresh coat of paint). I'm ecstatic when I can redeem points at Subway and get a free sandwich. Bookmarks at the counter of the book store? You can bet I took one (...or two). "Free" is exciting and fun, and sometimes super-unexpected, which makes you value it all the greater. :o)

| Thank-you, Starbucks, for having a free iTunes song upload each week. It makes getting a non-fat iced chai all the more enjoyable, and when I get home to expand my music library, I thank my lucky stars for music-friendly businesses like yourself. |

Post cards from far-away friends = instant smile, and perhaps a little jig on the kitchen floor....
It's so nice to be thought of! |

| Hand-written thank-you notes from friends who value a) the lost art of hand-written thank-you notes and b) sending said note through the United States Postal Service. Receiving a genuine thank-you truly makes my day. :o) |
 |
| My growing stack of Real Simple and Oprah magazines, which I get from my mother-in-law who gets them from someone else because she knows those are two of my favorite mags and after I read them, I cut 'em up for scrap-journaling purposes. Recycling magazines is the best! |

| Some of the Dove Chocolate inspirational messages are cheesy / dumb / far from inspirational. But every once in a while you'll find a little gem like this and you say, "Dove, you win. Thanks for your free bit of hippie-love advice. And delicious dark chocolate." |

| Winning a free bottle of wine at a bridal shower??? Umm, AWESOME. :o) |
